Ms. Laura S.
Title: Teacher
Laura grew up in southern Utah in a loving family who shares her passion of dance. Starting percussive dance and gymnastics at age 4, she learned to love all forms of movement. Some of her early accomplishments include: Taking first in all around in USA State Gymnastics, graduating high school as Dance Sterling Scholar, and being awarded All-American cheerleader.
Laura graduated from BYU with a bachelors degree in Dance and a minor in Family Studies. She spent several years on the BYU Ballroom Dance Touring Company where she represented BYU at the 2023 International Ballroom Blackpool competition and became an international formation champion. She is a two time U.S. National finalist in amateur cabaret, and a National Pre-champ vice champion in American Smooth and Ballroom. Aside from ballroom, Laura has trained in many other genres including gymnastics, tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, and more. When Laura isn’t thinking about dance, you can find her listening to Michael Bublè, or trying to find a good slice of pizza with her husband.
Laura loves Studio K and is ecstatic to be a teacher here!

Hi! I'm Channing. A Utah native with a love for musical theater, carbs and cheese, and all things Disney! I recently graduated from BYU with a degree in dance. I have spent the last couple years either nannying, teaching or performing with young kiddos and I can't wait to add your littles to my group of tiny best friends.

Jessica
was born and raised in Utah. She grew up with 5 siblings, which has instilled
her with a love for children. Jessica graduated from Brigham Young University
with a BA in Dance. While attending BYU she performed and choreographed for the
DancEnsemble company as well as was an assistant teacher for the BYU children’s
dance program.
When she was 5 her mother signed her up for dance and she cried
her very first day but it quickly became her passion in life. She has
been married since 2015 and has 4 wonderful children. Some things
that she enjoys are playing outside with her kids, reading, baking, and of
course dancing. She is excited to make a life long dream come true by being a
dance teacher here at Studio K.

Title: Teacher
Maia began her ballet training under the direction of Mr. Charles Maple at Maple Youth Ballet. She continued her training with Anaheim Ballet and Dmitri Kulev Classical Ballet Academy. She performed roles in many classical ballets, her favorite being The Nutcracker. Maia began studying at BYU in 2022 and has been a member of the performing companies Ballet Showcase (Winter ‘22) and Theatre Ballet (Fall ‘22- current). While at BYU, she has had the privilege of performing several works, some of her favorites being the lead in Gerald Arpino’s Reflections (’23) and the Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty (’24).
Maia has taught at Studio K Dance Academy for several years. She has studied Methodologies of Teaching Ballet and finds immense fulfillment from seeing students’ progress. Recently, she assisted in coaching variations at the BYU Ballet ‘25 summer intensives.
She has been accepted to the BYU, Ballet West, University of Utah, Boston Ballet, and the School of American Ballet summer intensive programs, and has competed in Youth America Grand Prix. While at BYU, Maia completed the ABT National Training Curriculum Level 6 with Merit (’23), has trained in the 4Pointe technique, and studied abroad at La Scala in Milan, Italy (‘23).
Maia attended the CORPS de Ballet International conference (June ‘25) to expand her understanding of ballet pedagogy; She is always eager to adopt new research of ballet technique and is excited to implement new insights from the conference in her classes for her students.
Following her undergraduate education, she looks forward to receiving her Master of Fine Arts. Maia is thrilled to teach the talented dancers of Studio K this season.

Julie was raised in Dallas, Texas and began dancing at the age of four. She danced at the Academy of Dance Arts until she graduated in 2024. While dancing at ADA, she was a member of the Dallas Repertoire Ballet and their competition team for ten years. She is heavily trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop. She has attended multiple summer intensives including the Joffrey Ballet School, Peridance, and Verve.
Currently, Julie lives in Provo and attends Brigham Young University as a business Major. She is a part of Aura Dance Company in Lehi, Utah and travels as an assistant with Heat Dance Convention. She is so excited to begin her first season teaching at Studio K!

Ms. Aleah I.
Title: Teacher
Aleah started dancing at a young age and is passionate about helping adults continue their journey in dance. She is classically trained in ballet and has studied multiple styles in many studios over the years, including jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, hip-hop, and Bollywood. She was a principal dancer with the Shenandoah Academy of Dance whilst in college and also was the captain and director of the Southern Virginia University Dance Company for three years.
Outside of dance, Aleah works as a marketing manager, editor, and journalist.
