All classes start with a warm-up, followed by creative improvisational challenges, story dances, free dances, and/or prop dances that explore movement themes. As students mature, more dance technique is added to the curriculum as well as turning, jumping and lifted posture.
Young dancers will discover their own wide range of movements varying in size, shape, feeling, and speed. This self-discovery is fun and it develops concentration, self-discipline and self-confidence. The use of music instills new appreciation and emphasizes auditory and rhythmic skills. Working with props strengthens hand-eye coordination.
